We then worked the following drill
Takedown, knee mount, full mount, turn over to guard, break guard, stand up & repeat.

Monday (Panantukan class)
We looked at using good body mechanics when we strike & making sure the punch starts at the feet and working on correct power line all the way through until delivery to the target. In addition it’s important to recover to the guard position quickly to reduce the time for a counter.
We worked some single direct attacks these were:
• Jab
• Cross
• Hook (L&R)
• Uppercut (L&R)
• Overhand (L&R)
We also looked at the following combinations:
2 count combos
• Double Jab
• Jab Cross
• Cross Hook
• Hook Cross
As well as some 3 count combos
• Jab cross hook
• Jab cross uppercut
• Cross hook cross
• Hook cross hook
Lastly we did some technique work against the wide strikes (punches) as at a street level most people will swing wide rather then punch on a tight line.
We used the following techniques
• Shoulder stop
• Sumgab & foot trap (if these can land at the same excellent)
• Left head scoop
• Arm drag
Cheers all see you soon.

Kali Class
We worked basic double stick
4 count KOB - KOB to downward X left & right using lateral triangle footwork
we then moved onto single stick work using 3 count entry as a base (remember this is a running attack & zoning is important)
3 count entry is as follows
High forehand
Low backhand
High backhand
followed by switch & diagonal slash & repeat left side.
We then worked the inside sweep to horizontal backhand to the body (angle 4) & return angle 1 strike and partner repeated. Then we added the left cross which we saluted/shielded (Taming) & then partner repeated.
To the above we added the following
X strike
Vine & Snake disarm
Papercutter takedown to
1) Bicep crush
2) From bicep crush we added branch down shoulder lock/break.
Remember if all else fails make sure you can swing that stick.
If you like the Kali don't miss the seminar on the 25th July with myself.
Cheers all G
